HDR Explained
HDR stands for High Dynamic Range (of light).
Dynamic Range in photography is the difference between the dark and the lightest areas in a picture.
Our eyes see about 11 levels of light; a camera only sees 3. To compensate, we simple take multiple pictures at different light levels (called bracketing).
Once we have our bracket, it’s a simple matter of combining them together in a photo software (ex: Photoshop or Lightroom)…
…and then make adjustments to create the perfect picture.

As you know from the HDR tutorial, three pictures of different light levels are combined to create a HDR picture.
Although the standard in professional real estate photography, there are some limitations to HDR such as incorrect colors,
excessively shiny floors…
windows views lacking…
bleeding light, etc…
Correcting these issues is a simple matter of filling the room with artificial light throughout the space.
Light is added to the left side of the space….
It’s also added in the center….
Finally, light is added to the right side of the space.
Once all the shots are completed, we combine them into a photo editing software such as Photoshop or Lightroom and make necessary adjustments to create the perfect picture.
